"The trendy taqueria currently has three locations, all in St. Louis. The group aims to open a new Mission Taco Joint in the Crossroads Arts District in Kansas City, Missouri – south of downtown, six blocks from the Power and Light District.

Their plans to expand to Kansas City fit right into that portfolio in a way Barrister’s never quite did.

‘The Arts District, it’s really up and coming; it reminds me of the Loop,’ Tilford says. ‘We really want this to happen; the lawyers and landlords have this in their hands now. Our investment group is behind us.’"

High-tech car showroom parks in Crossroads

“Luxury car dealer Pure Pursuit Automotive recently set up shop in one of Kansas City’s trendiest districts, incorporating such technology as holographic attendants and personal tablets. Those technologies and others aim to create an experience lacking at mega, suburban dealerships, founder and CEO Glen Dakan said.

Featuring such cars as Maseratis, BMWs and Jaguars, Dakan said he wants to create a tailored and memorable car buying experience for patrons through technology. In addition to a hologram attendant at Pure Pursuit’s entrance, sensors around the showroom will cue demos on personal tablets. Patrons can also watch videos on the boutique showroom’s touchscreen projector.”

Renewal plan could be a boost to East Crossroads

"…East Crossroads Urban Renewal Plan.

The proposal would pave the way for property tax incentives for redevelopment in a 92-acre area generally bounded by Interstate 670on the north, U.S. 71 on the east, the Kansas City Terminal Railway tracks or a section of 18th Street on the south, and Oak or Locust streets on the west.

The city’s Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority took the first step Wednesday morning by finding the area blighted. Next the plan must be considered by the Planning, Zoning & Economic Development Committee of the Kansas City Council, followed by the full council."
